Thermador dishwasher not draining: describe the water and cycle

Water visible below a filter is different from standing water across the tub floor. When a dishwasher does not drain as expected, start with the amount and location of water and whether the cycle completed.

Record the cycle and any message

Tell us whether the dishwasher stopped early, completed normally or displayed a code. Write the exact code rather than its remembered meaning; definitions vary by model.

If sink or disposal work happened recently, mention it. A drainage complaint may involve appliance operation or its connection to the household drain, and the timing helps frame the assessment.

Keep checks within the user manual

Review only the accessible maintenance steps in your model’s instructions. Do not reach into concealed pump parts, remove an unfamiliar cover or force an obstruction. Broken material can be hidden in standing water.

Stop running a leaking machine. Note whether water appears at the door, under the appliance or in the sink cabinet, and describe whether it occurs during filling or at the end of the cycle.

Arrange the right access for an integrated dishwasher

Clear dishes if practical and make the sink cabinet accessible for inspection of the visible connections. Tell us about a custom front panel, recently changed flooring or cabinetry that may affect removal. Leave the dishwasher in place.

The assessment distinguishes a cycle interruption from a drain-path problem and considers the relevant components before repair is proposed. A dishwasher left full of water does not, by itself, confirm a failed drain pump.

Before you book.

Avoid repeatedly running a malfunctioning or leaking machine. Record the symptoms and use the model manual or a service assessment to determine the next step.
